Funeral services for Noland J. Boyd are to be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at House of Peace Worship Church with the Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will follow Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at the Masonic Cemetery in Morton under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Dr. Boyd died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. He was 50 and an associate professor for the Chemistry Department at Alcorn State University. He was a member of Pleasant Green M. B. Church and a member of Beta Kappa Chi and Alpha Chi Sigma Honor Fraternities, and the American Chemical Society.

He was preceded in death by his father Newtie Boyd.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Lampkin Boyd of Vicksburg; son, Jonathan Thaddeus Boyd of Vicksburg; daughter Nanette Patrice Boyd of Vicksburg; his mother, Daisy White Boyd of VIcksburg; and cousins and other relatives.
