Bail set for county woman

Tasha “Nortia” Ford made her initial court appearance in Justice Court Monday afternoon. Judge Jeff Crevitt set a $50,000 bond, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Ford is accused of child neglect involving her failure to have her 3-year-old child treated for a sexually transmitted disease. She was arrested on a warrant charging her with felony child neglect when she went to the Sheriff’s Office to talk with detectives Todd Dykes and Stacy Rollinson about the child.
Pace said they don’t know at this point if this was a sexual assault and they are still investigating.
DVD player missing from vehicle
A disc player was missing Monday following a burglary reported in Vicksburg.
At 11 p.m. Friday, a DVD player was reported stolen from a 1981 Oldsmobile on the 1300 block of Mulberry St., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Roof materials missing in county
Building materials were missing Monday following a theft reported in Warren County.
Twenty sheets of galvanized metal were reported stolen Friday off a utility trailer on Belle Bottom Road in the Redwood area, according to Warren County sheriff’s records. The theft is through to have happened between Sunday, Oct. 25 and Monday, Oct. 26.
Wire missing in county
Wire was missing Monday following a theft reported in Warren County.
Utility wire was reported stolen Saturday from the 9000 block of Freetown Road, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.
Television missing from home
A television was missing Monday following a burglary reported in Vicksburg.
At 4:20 p.m. Saturday, a 47-inch television valued at $300 was reported stolen by forced entry into a home on the 2500 block of Confederate Ave., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
