Footman threw a 7-yard scoring pass to Jordan Payne following a fumble by Texas Southern on the first play after the opening kickoff. The Braves scored again on a blocked punt and Footman added two scoring runs and another touchdown pass before the end of the first half for a 38-0 lead.

Ragsdale broke into the open for a 68-yard touchdown run to start the second half and the Braves cruised to the win.

Homer Causey threw for 114 yards and ran for a score for Texas Southern (3-6, 2-6).

Alcorn State inched closer to its second consecutive SWAC East Division championship. It can clinch the title and a berth in the conference championship game by beating Alabama A&M at home next Saturday.

Grambling (8-2, 8-0) clinched the West Division championship by beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 49-31 on Saturday.

Delta State 37, Mississippi College 29

Tyler Sullivan completed 32 of 46 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns as Delta State (6-5, 2-5 Gulf South Conference) finished the season with a win over in-state rival Mississippi College (2-8, 0-7).

Sullivan’s 5-yard TD pass to Darius Powellwith 28 seconds left in the third quarter gave Delta State the lead for good in a back-and-forth game. Justin McArthur added a 10-yard run midway through the fourth to put the Statesmen ahead 37-26.

Sharone Wright threw two touchdown passes for Mississippi College, which only had 252 yards of total offense compared to 552 for Delta State.

Raphael Johnson rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, Rashad Sims had six receptions for 169 yards and two scores, and Millsaps (3-7, 2-6 American Southwest Conference) beat Rhodes (4-6, 2-6) in its season finale.

Sims caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from Ty Proctor with three seconds left in the first half to give the Majors a 17-14 lead, and they never trailed again.
