When they’re on — and they were definitely on Thursday night — Keiyana Gaskin and Karry Callahan form quite the tag team.
The Vicksburg High duo combined to score 31 points and block 13 shots as the Missy Gators beat Pearl 53-49 for their second consecutive victory.
Callahan, a forward, had 15 points, 21 rebounds, six blocks, eight steals and five assists. The point guard Gaskin scored 16 points and blocked seven shots.
“Keiyana was handling the ball well and distributing, and her speed is helping us be better. She’s so quick. She got two charges called for her tonight,” Vicksburg coach Barbara Hartzog said. “She jumps so well, too, to be a guard.”
Kerricka McRunnells added eight points for Vicksburg (3-2).
Felicia McCloud led Pearl with 16 points, and Christiana Davis scored 12.
Vicksburg won its second consecutive game after losing two in a row, and will now have two weeks off before its next game Dec. 3 at Raymond.
“Now we’re 3-2 in November and have a month under our belts. We’ll get better as we play together and get everybody contributing,” Hartzog said.

Warren Central (2-4) rallied from seven points down in the second half to win.
“I like our defensive effort and how we finished it with defensive rebounds,” Warren Central coach Bruce Robinson said. “We have work to do on offense. I like the way the guys supported each other and we were able to grind out a win.”
