With their best player in top form, the Vicksburg Missy Gators had no trouble finding their way into the win column for the first time this season.
Mikayla Banks had a hat trick by halftime, added a fourth goal in the second half, and the Missy Gators (1-2) beat Lawrence County 4-0 at Memorial Stadium.
Haleigh Erwin and Torri Hayden had assists for Vicksburg, and goal keeper Virgie Demby made five saves.
Vicksburg’s boys soccer team also won for the first time, beating Lawrence County 3-1.
Flashes win one, lose two
St. Aloysius’ boys soccer team finally got on the field Saturday and went 1-2 at the Adams County Christian School Shootout in Natchez.
The Flashes lost 3-2 to Cathedral on penalty kicks, and 1-0 to Greenville-St. Joseph.
In the last game of the day, coach Scott Mathis gave his junior varsity players some playing time and the Flashes beat Oak Forest 2-0. Kieran Theriot and Josh Collins scored the goals for St. Al.
All three games featured 25-minute halves and are considered preseason games. St. Al’s first regular-season game is Nov. 30 at home against River Oaks.
