A look at how players from Vicksburg-area high schools did in college football games played over the weekend:

• Alcorn State quarterback Tavares Johnson, Jr. (Vicksburg High) had six carries for 47 yards in a 44-10 win over Alabama A&M. Johnson saw the first playing time of his college career as the Braves clinched the SWAC East Division championship.

• Kentucky safety A.J. Stamps (Vicksburg High) had four total tackles in a 58-10 win over Charlotte.

• Mississippi State kicker Devon Bell (Warren Central) kicked off nine times and had two touchbacks in a 51-50 win over Arkansas.

• Ole Miss offensive lineman Talbot Buys (Porters Chapel Academy) saw playing time in a 38-17 win over LSU.

• Southern Miss offensive lineman Norman Price (Vicksburg High) started his 11th consecutive game this season at right tackle in a 56-31 win over Old Dominion.

• Louisiana Tech cornerback Adairius Barnes (Port Gibson) had two solo tackles, two assists, and two pass breakups in a 17-15 win over UTEP.
