William Henry Larson

William Henry Larson, age 97, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Freemont Neb., and was a resident of Vicksburg since 1946.

He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg for many years where he served as elder and deacon. He joined Westminister Presbyterian Church in Nashville upon moving in 2012.  He was retired from WES as a civil engineer in the soils division.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and continued in the Army Reserve until retiring in 1975 as a full colonel.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Louise Moore Larson; and sister, Carol Herrick.

He is survived by his sons, the Rev. Dr. John (Judi) William Larson Sr. of Nashville, Tenn., and Donald M. (Ellen) Larson of Kent, Washington; two grandchildren, Jennifer J. Larson and her husband Dr. David Wyckoff of Nashville, and John Larson Jr., of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, William and Andrew Wyckoff, both of Nashville; one nephew; and nieces.

Graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Gardens Dec. 4, 2015, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at Glenwood Funeral Home.
