Jerry Evan Mayfield

Jerry Evan Mayfield died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016. He was 70.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., he was a former resident of Marks and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1972. Jerry was the son of the Evan Mayfield and Lucille Hood Mayfield.

He was employed by Mississippi Power and Light Company for 22 years and in later years was a building contractor. He was a member of the Y’s Mens Club and other service organizations.  He was beloved and devoted son, husband, father and brother. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Jabour Mayfield; daughter, Courtney Mayfield; and a twin brother, Terry Mayfield. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Roxanne, Maggie and Taillight.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Matt Buckles, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. at the funeral home until the hour of the service.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Warren County Humane Society, Paws Rescue and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Mike Chaney, Dr. George Abraham, Lance Boswell, George Jabour Jr., Richard Lane, David Sessums, Frank May, Phil Lawson and Pace Boler.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddy Abraham, Raymond Abraham, Butch Wilson, Luis Diaz, Ed Buelow, Don Miller, Benny Wells and Dr. Jim Cook.
