Eddie L. Wells

HERMANVILLE — Eddie L. Wells died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. He was 80.

Mr. Wells was pastor of First Christian Church in Hermanville for four years. He was a member of Tillman Chapel Church, the ministers alliance, Masonic Lodge No. 21 and the Christian Ministers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wash Wells and Ollie Rogers-Wells; two brothers, John Henry Wells and J.C. McGrew; and two sisters, Carrie Wells and Alma Wells

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Wells and Michael Wells Sr., both of Port Gibson; two daughters, Connie Herron of San Antonio, Texas, and Lucille Sanders of Vicksburg; three brothers, Carl Lee Wells of Hermanville, and Robert Thomas Sr. and Charles Smith, both of Chicago; five sisters, Annie Lemon of New Orleans, Bobbie Young of Port Gibson, and Ellen Dell Hynum, Dorothy Smith and Edna Smith, all of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 11a.m., today, Jan. 23, 2016, at First Christian Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating. Burial will be at Hermanville Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation is today at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
