Willie E. Peoples

Willie E. Peoples died Jan. 23, 2016 at his home. He was 60.

He was born Oct. 13, 1955, to the late Edward B. and Mary Peoples in Edwards.

Mr. Peoples attended Edwards Junior High School and Utica Junior College, where he pursued a career in drafting.

He served in the U.S. Army from July 1973 to February 1976, serving as a medical corpsman, medical specialist and first-aid attendant. He was discharged in February 1976.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gene Crowley Peoples; and his siblings, Eddie Lee Peoples and Jerry Peoples.

Survivors include his sisters, Juanita Ann Walker of Vicksburg, Sally Tucker, Vera Peoples, Elaine Peoples and Edith Peoples all of Edwards, and Sarah Scott of Jackson; brothers, Edward B. Peoples of Edwards Andrew Peoples, A.C. Peoples and Robert Peoples, all of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Jackson Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Trollars Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Edwards under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 to 7pm with family present from 6 to 7pm.
