Memorial services for Percy Edward “Fats” Harris Jr. will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.
Mr. Harris died Friday, February 5, 2016 at New Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, La. He was 70.
Born in Vicksburg, he was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School class of 1965, and a 1969 graduate of Alcorn State University. He was a physical education teacher and assistant football coach at Lucy C. Jefferson Jr. High School and also taught at Tallulah High School, Tallulah, La. He was retired from Quaker State Oil Company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Percy Edward Harris Sr.; and a brother, Charles Leon Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtice Harris of Vicksburg; three sons, Brian Harris of Jackson, Edward Harris and Richard Harris, both of Vicksburg; mother, Gertrude Harris of Vicksburg; one brother, Johnel Harris of Aurora, Ill.; two sisters, Naomi Hughes of Aurora, Ill., and Patricia Johnson of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
