Rita Kaye Mathes

Rita Kaye Mathes, 49, of Vicksburg, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Specialty Select Hospital in Jackson. She was a member of Warrington Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Candance (Hamp) Myles of Winona; sisters, Freda (Alexis) Arender of Yazoo City, Penny (Jerry) Tompkins of Williamston, N.C., and Wanda Wigley of Vicksburg; brother, W. D. “Dub” (Kimberly) Wigley of Chesterton, Ind.; nieces, Alisha Arender (Wesley) Halford of Ackerman, Amber Arender (Garrett) Case of Wesson, Madyson Wigley of Chesterton, Ind., and Holly (Jonathan) of Vicksburg; nephew, Matthew (Rachel) Tompkins of Avon, Ind.; and maternal grandparents, Mildred and Bill Winstead of Lexington.

Services were Sunday, Feb. 14 2016, at Coxburg United Methodist Church in Holmes County. Internment was in the church cemetery with the Revs. Marvin Curtis and Rev. Glen Allen officiating.

Pallbearers were Jerry Tompkins, Alexis Arender, Matthew Tompkins, Kyle Bullard, Wade Myles, and Johnny Hightower. Honarary pallbearers were Wesley Halford, Garrett and Jonathan Curtis.
