Marquerite “Marjo” Nelson Lauderdale

PORT GIBSON — Marquerite “Marjo” Nelson Lauderdale passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 83.
Born and raised in Claiborne County, she was the daughter of the late Josephine M. Nelson and Clyde L. Nelson Sr.
Marjo will be deeply missed, but she will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Lauderdale; and her brothers, John C. Nelson and Clyde L. Nelson, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa “Teri” Marie Slagle of Port Gibson; her son, Halbert “Jay” Slagle III and his wife Diane of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
Graveside services will be 11a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, at Wintergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Gammel officiating.
Visitation will follow the graveside service at Port Gibson Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Tim Trevilion, Clay Myers, Austin Slagle, Jay Slagle, Perc McCaa and Bradley McCaa.
