William D. “Junior” Epps Jr.

William D. “Junior” Epps Jr. died on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at his home.  He was 84.

Born and reared in Vicksburg, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War, and with the 412th Engineering Command, U.S. Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Jones Epps and William Epps Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Iola Slaughter Epps of Vicksburg; four daughters, Anita Epps of Madison, Ala., Linda Epps of Memphis, Tenn., Alma Epps of Winchester, Va., and Denise Epps of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Virginia Thomas Smith of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; goddaughter; and other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.
