A Vicksburg man was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds after he was attacked by two brothers early Monday morning in the 2300 block of Washington Street near Speed Street, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

She said Lee Sherman Yates, 50, and Lee Edward Yates, both of Vicksburg, are charged with aggravated assault in the stabbing of Charles Scott, 37. She said Scott was taken to River Region Medical Center and later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he was in good condition, according to a hospital spokesman.

Municipal Judge Toni Terrett set the Yates brothers’ bail at $50,000 each and they were being held in the Warren County Jail.

Police had no motive for the assault, which remains under investigation.
