Phyllis C. Davis

Phyllis C. Davis passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 98.

She was the daughter of Phillip Davis and Pattie Thompson Davis of Yazoo City.  Phyllis was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus. She was a history teacher at Carr Central High School and retired from Waterways Experiment Station. Phyllis was a member of The Church of the Holy Trinity.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eliza Cocks Davis Herndon and Martha Davis Murphy; and nephew, Frank Murrah Herndon III.

Survivors include two nieces, Grace Herndon Johnson and Martha Herndon Schipper; and nephew, Richard Davis Murphy.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Beth Palmer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Kacey Miles, Daisy Martin, Iris Naylor and Mary Thomas for their wonderful support and loving care for Phyllis.
