Faye Sanders

Faye Sanders died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Merit Health-River Region Medical Center. She was 69.

Born in Mathiston, Mrs. Sanders was the daughter of the late Arthur and Delia Holland. Faye was a graduate of the Greenville High School and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1977.

She was an administrative assistant in the Instrumentation Services Division of the Waterways Experiment Station, retiring in 1997.

In later years, she was employed with Boyd’s Accounting Service. Faye will be remembered for her baking and catering services. She was a beloved wife for 31 years, a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Faye was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Sanders; daughter: Janice Polley Miller (Richard) stepson: Robbie Sanders; three grandchildren, Chase Miller (Jessica), Colby Miller and Robert Sanders Jr. Faye is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Caleb Worthy, Lana Hubbard, Gauge Miller and Robert Sanders III; four sisters, Barbara Stewart (Jim), Rita Bedgood, Debra Matherne (Dickie) and Melanie Dogan; and a brother, Mike Holland (Julie).

She leaves a special niece and nephew, Kaesey Dogan and Cody Dogan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Holland and Delores Ogle.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Harris, pastor, and the Rev. Ron Burch, former pastor, officiating.

Visitation will be at church from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Mathiston.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213, and to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 3365 Porters Chapel Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
