WC soccer tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s boys varsity soccer team will be held May 9 and 10, at 4 p.m. each day, on the front practice field adjacent to Mississippi 27. The tryouts are for players in grades 7-12. All players must wear shin guards, and have a current physical and a parental consent form.

All participants must also sign up on the soccer practice field on May 5, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., to get the appropriate paperwork. For more information, call coach Greg Head at 601-631-1257.

Adult kickball league

Registration for the River City Adult Kickball League will continue until Thursday, April 28, online only at rckickballandsocialsports.com.

The league is for adults ages 30 and over and is a non-competitive, social league that encourages players to be active and healthy. For more information, email rivercitykickers@gmail.com.

Fuzzy Johnson baseball

Registration for the 2016 season of the Fuzzy Johnson Baseball League is now open. The league is open to children ages 5-14, and will include three age groups. Registration is open at the Mission 66 baseball field and Jackson Street Gym. For more information, call Ernest Galloway at 601-618-4455.

Learn to Swim

Registration for the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program will be held at City Pool Wednesday, May 11 through Friday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Another sign-up session will be held Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The program is open to people ages 3 and up, and adults are welcome as well. Each two-week session will consist of three morning and one evening class per week, and will instruct students based on their ability level. All classes are approximately 45 minutes in length. There are three sessions this summer — June 6-17, June 27-July 8, and July 18-29.

The cost of the program is $12 per student, and registration must be made in person. All payments are due at the time of registration. For more information, call City Pool at 601-634-4516.

Play 2 Wynn basketball

The 14th annual Play 2 Wynn Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 20-24 at Vicksburg High School. The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-17, and the registration is $100. For information, email Donna Brown-Wynn at dbrownwynn@gmail.com.

Bubba Mims golf tournament

Porters Chapel Academy will host the 12th annual Bubba Mims Memorial Golf Classic May 11 at Vicksburg Country Club. The event is a four-man scramble and will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The entry fee is $395 per four-man team and includes cart, beverages and lunch. All proceeds benefit Porters Chapel Academy. For more information, call Mark Buys at 601-636-3752.
