Nina Faye Brookshire of Edwards died April 28, 2016 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 77.

Mrs. Brookshire was born to Henry and Rhonda Smothers in Edwards and was the youngest of six siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanford Chico Brookshire; grandson, Demeal Brookshire; her parents; and siblings, Bill Knox, Robert Stamps, Mary Katherine Andrews, Tennessee Whitley, Addie Lloyd and Carrie Bell Turner.

Survivors include her children, Reginald Smothers of Biloxi, Theresa B. Billups of Memphis, Tenn., Tanya B. West of Raymond, Terri L. Brookshire of Milwaukee, Kenneth D. Brookshire Sr., Sharon Brookshire and Patrick Brookshire, all of Edwards; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
