LDP to host Farm Program workshops

Published 10:19 am Thursday, May 5, 2016

The 2014 Farm Bill included several conservation programs available to landowners in the Mississippi Delta.

Mississippi’s Lower Delta Partnership and Mississippi State Extension Service along with area Soil Conservation commissions are hosting workshops at which each of these programs will be explained by NRCS wildlife biologist, Kevin Nelms.

As Kevin notes, “Each Farm Bill is different and keeping abreast of changes and new programs is important for conservation in the Delta.  NRCS cannot deliver Farm Bill programs without willing participation from landowners and producers.  Therefore, we want to inform the public on what the current Farm Bill has to offer.”
