HERMANVILLE — The Rev. John C. Boyd died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. He was 63.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lillie Mae Smith-Boyd.

Survivors include three sons, John Burnett of Vicksburg, David Wells of Hermanville and Travis Goods of Carthage; one stepson, John O’Quinn of Jackson; five daughters, Tonya Boyd-Hayes and Natashia Boyd, both of Jackson, Shannon O’Quinn Franklin and Cheentara Boyd, both of Port Gibson, and Carrie Martin of Hazlehurst; a stepdaughter, Winafred O’Quinn Howard of Utica; two brothers, Richard Boyd Jr. of Pattison and Albert Boyd of Hermanville; four sisters, Mary A. Morgan, Carmella Boyd and Hattie Turner, all of Hermanville, and Deborah Turner Collins of Jackson; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2p.m., Saturday, May 7, at First Baptist Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Johnnie Hughes officiating.  Burial will be at Shady Grove  Cemetery under the direction of  Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5p.m. at the funeral home.
