On the mound, Brady Bramlett allowed one run and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings. The bullpen came in behind him and finished with a strong effort, throwing 3 2/3 scoreless innings to preserve the win.

Will Stokes pitched two innings of middle relief and Wyatt Short struck out two batters in the ninth to earn his 10th save of the season. Brady Feigl took over for Bramlett in the sixth inning with runners on first and second and one out, and got the Rebels out of the jam without giving up a run.

“Our pitchers made some big pitches in certain innings to get off the field,” Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said. “Brady (Bramlett) was terrific and looked like his normal self. He’s been taking a lot of criticism lately; however he’s out here winning games. For Feigl to come in with first and second with one out as a freshman and get out without a run was terrific. That set it up for Stokes and Short to close it out.”

Ole Miss (37-13, 15-10 Southeastern Conference) got on the board in the second inning. Lartigue and Bortles both singled, and then Holt Perdzock delivered a two-out single to center field to score Lartigue with the game’s first run.

Kentucky (29-21, 13-12) tied it in the third inning with a solo home run by Tristan Pompey, and then Ole Miss took the lead back for good in the fourth.

Golsan tripled and scored on a single by Cameron Dishon to put the Rebels ahead 2-1. They added another run in the seventh when Tate Blackman scored on a two-out RBI single by Bortles.

Ole Miss and Kentucky play again Friday at 6:30 p.m.
