Mary Frances Hicks

Mary Frances Hicks died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Heritage House Retirement Center. She was 88.

Born in Philadelphia, she had made her home in Vicksburg since 1956. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Alton Hicks, and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.

The family sends special thanks to the Heritage House Retirement Center, St. Joseph Hospice and Dr. Samuel Pierce.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Hunt of Flowood; her two sons, Terry Glen Hicks and Timothy Hicks both of Vicksburg; her two sisters, Margaret Rickles of Philadelphia and Mavis Sharp of Wiggins; her brother, Billy Jayroe of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Hicks Jr., George Baker, William Cohen, Chad Ponder, Todd King and Franklin Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Hicks, Thomas Jayroe and Gary Rickles.
