Vicksburg police are searching for a man who escaped from the Madison Parish, La., jail Wednesday after pleading guilty to a charge of manslaughter, Capt. Sandra Williams said.

She said Wilson Bryant, 41, whose address was listed as 2711 Drummond St., was originally charged in Madison Parish with murder, but pleaded guilty in 6th Judicial District Court in Tallulah, La., to the manslaughter charge. He escaped from jail about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, she said.

She said he is described as 6 feet 1-inch charge and weight. Anyone who has seen Bryant or knows his whereabouts should call the Vicksburg Police Department at 601-636-2511.
