Bail set at $200,000 for suspect in last week’s shooting

Bail has been set at $200,000 for a Vicksburg man accused of shooting and wounding two other men Thursday evening in the parking lot of a Clay Street business, Vicksburg Police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Municipal Judge Toni Walker Terrett set bail for Jaylen Jordan, 19, after an initial appearance Monday in Municipal Court.
Jordan is charged with two counts of shooting into a business, one count of attempted aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, during the shooting, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
The two men he is accused of shooting were treated and released from Merit Health River Region Medical Center.
Jordan is also accused of shooting at another man and shooting at a car in the parking lot occupied by a man. Neither was wounded. Some of the shots fired by Jordan went into the business. Police collected 11 spent shell casings in the parking lot.
Jordan was arrested about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Lane Street. A firearm was recovered, she said. No motive has been determined for the shooting, which remains under investigation.
