Main break leads to boil water notice

The Culkin Water District has issued a boil water notice that will impact at least 250 households.
The notice is in effect for customers who live from 3461-5735 Mount Alban Road, 1131-2245 Culkin Road, Springview Drive, Corbin Drive, Mullens Road, Brookwood Drive, Brookwood Place, Brookwood Lane, Renaud, Oak Tree Drive, Dunigan Road, Bucks Drive, Douglas Road, Dove Road, Southhall Road, Mattie Lane, Steve Road, Mosely Gap, Old Mount Alban, East View, Shiloh Lane, Bridlewood, all in Warren County.
It is recommended to boil water vigorously for two minutes.
District spokesperson Kadie Hearn said the notice was issued as a precaution because of a break in the water line causing the system to lose pressure.
Just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, a main break was reported on Culkin Road just north of the Mount Alban Road intersection.
The loss of pressure can cause contaminants to siphon in the water system. Once pressure is restored, water system officials will take samples for testing.
Traffic was cut down to one lane as crews worked to repair the break Tuesday. Warren County sheriff’s deputies helped the water district direct traffic.
It was after 5 p.m. Tuesday before the break was repaired.
