Meghan Hinson went 2-for-3 for PCA and started the winning rally with a double to the fence. She was replaced by pinch-runner Ashlyn Wright, who scored on a single by Sabrina Embry. Another pinch-runner, Rheagan Smith, scored the winning run on a bunt single by Kaylee Hinson.

“It was intense,” PCA coach Amanda Yocum said.

PCA pitcher Hannah Embry retired the first eight batters she faced and 15 of 19 through five innings. She struck out five and walked two. Amite scored twice in the second inning and twice more in the sixth to take a 4-1 lead.

Hannah Embry and Shelby Barwick both singled and scored on ground outs in the sixth inning for PCA, and another run scored on an error to tie it. After Amite scored again in the seventh, Hinson’s one-out double started the winning rally.

PCA will host Franklin Academy Thursday at 6 p.m. at Bazinsky Park.
