PCA sweeps Trinity in doubleheader

Porters Chapel Academy’s Embry sisters teamed up to dominate Trinity on Wednesday.

Hannah Embry went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs, and also pitched a one-hitter as PCA beat Trinity 14-1 in the first game of a doubleheader at Bazinsky Park. Her sister Sabrina Embry drove in two runs and scored two more.

In game two, Sabrina Embry stepped into the pitcher’s circle and threw a one-hit shutout as PCA won 7-0 to complete the sweep. Embry allowed two walks and struck out four in five innings to earn the win. She also reached base three times and scored twice.

Hannah Embry hit a solo home run in game two, and Gracie Felker had an RBI triple. Kaylee Hinson was 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored.

PCA (19-6, 7-2 District 5-AA) has one district game left, Monday at 6 p.m. at Franklin Academy in Winnsboro, La. PCA can clinch a No. 2 seed in next weekend’s MAIS Class AA South State tournament with a win.
