Patricia ‘Pat’ Thaggard Farris

Patricia “Pat” Thaggard Farris of Vicksburg passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, after a lengthy illness. She was 88.
She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Maggie Haney Thaggard of Philadelphia.
Pat earned a degree as a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) from Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She was employed with Kuhn Memorial State Hospital for many years.
In 1947, Pat met Ellis Jabour Farris at the soda shop located in the Hotel Vicksburg. They were married for 65 years. Pat enjoyed modeling for local boutiques in the 1970s, including Georgia Loe’s. She was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her husband, Ellis Jabour Farris; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Farris of Gluckstadt and Fran Farris Armstrong of New Orleans; one son, John Farris (Janet) of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Hilary Winkelmann, Nolan Farris, Daniel Edwards and Amy Dorrell; six great-grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Lalor officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Maury Banks, Daniel Edwards, Nolan Farris, Kris Dorrell, Alex Kelly and Keith Schraenkler.
