Police are looking for a Vicksburg man who severely injured a woman during an argument Thursday night at the Scottish Inn, 3955 Clay St., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Police have issued a warrant charging Peyton Heggins, 39, with aggravated domestic assault in the case.

According to police reports, the incident occurred about 9 p.m.

Heggins shoved the woman through the glass window of the hotel room during the argument, causing multiple cuts across her body.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center and later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center. Information on her condition was unavailable.

In another case, Candace Buck was arrested by officers on a warrant from the Mississippi Department of Corrections after she went to the police department in a separate matter.
Man charged for Boy Scout Road burglary

A Vicksburg man is charged with grand larceny in the August burglary of a home on Boy Scout Road, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

John Caleb Wallace, 22, who gave an address of 3663 Freetown Road, was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Pace said Yazoo County authorities have placed a “hold” on Wallace in connection with a theft case there.

Wallace is accused of breaking into a home in the 300 block of Boy Scout Road. Among the items stolen were TV, Xbox video game, a chainsaw and a leaf blower.
