During their marriage, they lived in Port Gibson, where Miriam was a social worker for 20 years.  Miriam had two devoted children, Pam and Danny, along with her favorite son-in-law, Lee Rubin.

After Aubrey’s death, Miriam moved to Alexandria, La., to live closer to Pam and Lee, along with her two grandchildren, Adam and Mimi.

In addition to her children, she is survived by two grandchildren, Adam (Missy) Rubin and Mimi (Brad) Kirzner, both of Alexandria; and five great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Cohnor, BB, Camille, and Grae.

She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy (Herbert) Lipman, of Memphis, Tenn.; and a niece, Randa Kahn; a nephew, Larry Lipman; and a brother-in-law, Heiman Cohn of Vicksburg.

Miriam was devoted to her family and friends, loved to travel and was the most accomplished gourmet cook. After encouragement from her family, Miriam published “The Country Gourmet” in 1976 and enjoyed sharing her many family recipes with everyone far and wide.

Miriam treasured her lifelong friends, being the consummate pen pal. Miriam was happy hearted, positive, upbeat and always full of life. One of her greatest joys was cheering for her LSU Tigers, as a devoted lifelong fan. Miriam will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the compassionate, caring staff of Brookdale Senior Living, along with Compassionate Care Hospice and the special caregivers that took care of mom at her home.  We can never thank them enough for their kindness and compassion.

Graveside services were Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Jewish Cemetery in Port Gibson, with Rabbi Arnold Task and Rabbi Peter Schaktman officiating.
