Mrs. Mamie Leah Ward Stevens died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at her residence in Brandon. She was 86 years old.

Mrs. Stevens was born in Delta City. She was a lifelong resident of Carry. She was married to Monroe L. Stevens for 70 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking for her family.

Survivors include husband, Monroe L. Stevens of Brandon; sons, Glen L. (Dyann) Stevens of Dardenelle, Ark. and Louis C. (Cheryl) Stevens of Grenada; daughter Madaline LaRue (Johnny) Wadford of Brandon; sisters, Betty DeWeese of Sibley, La., Ruth Goodwin of Greenville, Shirley Rocca of Louisiana; brother, Allen Ward of Greenville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at Glenwood Funeral Home of Vicksburg with chapel services at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan.
