Loryce Hawn died Thursday Dec. 15, 2016, at Merit Health Central in Jackson. She was 84 years old. Mrs. Hawn was born in Straight Bayou.

She served in The United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954. She owned and operated Fitler Store and ran the post office in Fitler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Hawn Sr. ;a son, George E. Hawn Jr.; and a grandson, Brad Neil Gaines.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Taylor of Vicksburg and Sherry Hawn of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with services at 2 p.m. in Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry White officiating.
