Lady Vikes beat Murrah to get into JPS title game

JACKSON — Warren Central rode a wave of adrenaline and its strong defense into the championship game of the girls Jackson Public Schools basketball tournament.

T.T. Sims hit three 3-pointers in the second half and finished with 11 points as the Lady Vikes beat Murrah 41-36 Wednesday morning in the semifinals. Murrah missed its last four shots from the field and Amber Gaston blocked another under the goal to help WC preserve the victory.

Gaston finished with only four points, but had eight rebounds and four blocks.

Warren Central will face Jim Hill in the championship game Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Forest Hill High School in Jackson. It’ll be WC’s fifth game in three days. They lost their tournament opener Monday afternoon, won two losers’ bracket games on Tuesday, and then Wednesday’s semifinal.
