James William Foster of Vicksburg passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Shady Lawn Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 75. 

Born in Yazoo County, James was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Alvin Foster Sr. and Annie Tindol Runie; three sons, William Galen Foster, Thomas Ivan Foster and Lenny Gale Foster; three brothers, Thomas Alvin Foster Jr., Garnett Foster and Melvin Foster; two sisters, Hazel Campbell and Mae Wilkinson.

Survivors include one daughter, Lanita Foster Wilson; one son, James Mark Foster; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nellie Doris Glassl.

Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
