A Vicksburg teenager will remain in the Warren County Jail without bond and his accused accomplice is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond for their involvement in the drive-by shooting of another teen.
Lamarien Harper, 16, and Darrien Turner, 15, are both charged with drive-by shooting and aggravated assault in the Tuesday afternoon shooting in which a 16-year-old was wounded.
Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said Judge Toni Terrett granted a motion from the Warren County District Attorney’s Office to revoke a $25,000 bond on Harper from a previous charge and order him held without bond.
Harper is accused of shooting the 16-year-old Tuesday as the boy and another teen were walking near the intersection of Bowmar Avenue and Drummond Street. The other teen was not wounded. The wounded teen was taken to Merit Health River Region and later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Information on his condition was unavailable.
At the time of the shooting, Harper was out on bond for another aggravated assault that occurred on Feb. 11, when he shot a 16-year-old during a fight that resulted from an argument between Harper and the victim’s mother over items she claimed Harper stole from her house.
During the fight with the other teen, Harper pulled a gun and shot him in the abdomen.
