A Vicksburg man shot in the head Tuesday night on U.S. 61 South has died at University of Mississippi Medical Center, according to information from Vicksburg Police.

Reginald Gaines, 30, 163 Elizabeth Circle, died from the wound he received when someone shot into a southbound car on U.S. 61 South in which he was a passenger. He was taken by private vehicle to Merit Health River Region, and later flown to UMC, where he died about 2:07 a.m. Wednesday, according to police reports.
