Eddie Andrew Cook Sr., 80, of Vicksburg, passed away March 5, 2017.

He was born in Bovina on Jan. 17, 1937, to the late Columbus Cook and L.E. “Peaches” Cook. He worked as a chemical operator at Vicksburg Chemical Company until his retirement.

Eddie leaves to mourn his death his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann James Cook.

He is also survived by two daughters, Vanessa (Doug) Cooper of Round Rock, Texas, and Dr. Andrea Cook of Vicksburg; and three sons, Eddie Andrew Cook Jr. and Eddie Ranardo Sweezer, both of Vicksburg, and Derrick Wells of Columbus, Ga. He also leaves behind his brother, Willie L. Betts Jr. of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren, and a niece and a nephew.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Zion Traveler Baptist Church.
