Martis ‘Bubba’ Comans

Martis “Bubba” Comans of Vicksburg passed away peacefully in his home March 13, 2017, surrounded by those he loved. He was 62.

Bubba was born Feb. 8, 1955, in Yazoo City to James Gilbert Comans and Bobby Jean Leach Comans. He lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He had a lifelong passion for riding motorcycles with his brothers. He served proudly with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department for twenty-fine years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherry Comans; and a son, Bryan Thurston.

Survivors include his loving wife of seventeen years, Stacy (Thornton) Comans; six sons, Marty Comans, Bobby Comans, Marcus Comans, Dylon Roge, Taylor Roge and Dalton Thornton; two daughters, Sunny Reese and Brook Dillon; two brothers, James Comans and Ralph Comans; one sister, Susie Stewart; fourteen grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Glenwood Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Curtis, the Rev. Joel Dement and Casey Fisher officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends whose lives Bubba touched are invited to Glenwood Funeral Home to share stories and celebrate his life.
