Mary Idell Renfroe

Mary Idell Renfroe of Vicksburg passed away peacefully Sunday, March 12, 2017.  She was 102.

Born in Good Hope, Idell was the daughter of the late Ira Jackson Thornton and Eula Fletcher Thornton.

She had worked in the clothing industry for many years including The Valley Department Store and was a retired employee of Shainberg’s Department Store.

She was a member of Crossway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Coy Lee Renfroe; five sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Keith Renfroe (Nancy Atkins) of Vicksburg; one grandson, Daniel Renfroe of Vicksburg; one granddaughter, Leslie Renfroe Dill (Michael) of Anchorage, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Dill and Parker Dill, both of Anchorage.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Sally Bevill and the Rev. Tommy Miller of Hawkins United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Renfroe, Bob Atkins, David Lofton, Danny Ryder, Tommy Renfroe and Douglas Renfroe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Beard, the staff of The Bluff Rehab and Healthcare and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice.

Memorial donations may be made to Service Over Self in care of Hawkins United Methodist Church, 3736 Halls Ferry Road, in Vicksburg.
