Kathy Carter

Kathy Carter passed away peacefully at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson March 11, 2017. She was 75.

Ms. Carter was a 1960 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School.

She retired from the Vicksburg Police Department as a school crossing guard after more than 37 years of faithful service. She also retired from Belk department store after more than 20 years.

She was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Addie Carter; and a daughter, Cheryl Ross.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Carter of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Sandra Ross of Fort Worth, Texas and Fredia Selmon of Vicksburg; a son, Clarence Ross of Bangkok, Thailand; and two granddaughters.

A home going celebration will be held at King Solomon Baptist Church, 180 Oak Ridge Rd, at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Visitation will be at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family being present from 6 to 7 p.m.
