Two Warren County men charged with the armed robbery of a man in Oxford are being held in the Warren County Jail, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Grady Bishop, 24, whose address was listed as 111 Bering St., and Gary Neil Fulgham, 23, 530 Still Drive, are being held without bail at the jail.

Both men were on probation for crimes committed in Warren County at the time of the Oxford robbery, Pace said, adding Bishop was also out on bond on a charge that has not gone to court. Bishop also faces a charge of possession of a firearm after felony conviction, because he had a handgun when he was arrested.

Bishop was arrested Friday on a warrant from Oxford police charging him with armed robbery after authorities received a tip he was hiding in the city. Sheriff’s deputies, Vicksburg police and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents arrested him at a mobile home at 4407 Halls Ferry Road Lot 12.

Bishop, Pace said, was holding a .380-caliber handgun when officers arrived, but soon dropped the weapon. He was being held without bail in the Warren County Jail.

Scotty Ray Weeks, the resident of the mobile home where Bishop was found, faces a charge of harboring a fugitive.

He was being held without bail pending an initial appearance in Justice Court.

Fulgham was arrested in Oxford. After his initial appearance in Oxford, Pace said, Fulgham was picked up by state probation and parole officers and returned to Vicksburg for the probation violation hearing.

Pace said Bishop was out on bond on a grand larceny auto theft charge from Warren County, and days before the robbery had been put back on probation after a probation violation hearing involving a burglary and grand larceny charge from Warren County.

“I am personally going to ask the court to revoke his bond and make sure he stays in jail, because he does not need to be out in the street,” Pace said. 

According to an article in the Oxford Eagle, Fulgham and Bishop are accused of stealing a phone, $940 and cigarettes in a March 10 robbery. The man told Oxford police Fulgham and Bishop chased him with a knife, cutting his finger.

Police said the two then tried to stab the man in the neck while kicking him in the head while he was on the ground.

Joanna Nicole Athanassov, 20, 111 Huntington Drive, Clinton, was being held without bail in the Warren County Jail pending an initial appearance in Justice Court.
