WINNSBORO, La.—Funeral services for Emma Jean Wood of Vicksburg, formerly of Newellton, will be noon in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Rev. Greg Clempts officiating. 

Interment will follow at New Winnsboro Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

She was born to Clifton Samuel and Lola Marie Richmond Gill April 13, 1952 in Winnsboro. She passed away Monday, March 27, at her residence. She was 64.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a graduate of Newellton High School. She retired from Madison Parish Hospital.

Her pastimes included fishing, taking part in family gatherings and spending precious time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James “Buddy” Gill.

She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Wood of Vicksburg; daughters, Sharon Massey of Rayville and Jimmie Lynn Carnegie of Vicksburg; stepdaughters, Heidi (Kevin) Jackson of Jackson, and Heather Wood of Mobile, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Jesse Jamison, Matt Wheelock, Zach Carnegie, Mason Carnegie, Preston Rogers, Cade Gregory, Emma Grace Carnegie and Hadley Underwood; seven siblings, Clifton Gill Jr. of Winnsboro, J.D. Gill of Benton, Shirley Kinler of Luling, La., Luther Gill of Bradley, Ark., Tommy Gill of Taylorsville, Ga., Terry Gill of Utica and Bobby Gill of Bradley; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Gill, James Gill, Jay Gill, Keith Gill, Kevin Gill, Sonny Gill, Terry Gill Jr., Tommy Gill and Mike Kinler.
