Lucy Mae Braswell Vance died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Merit Health River Region. She was 89.

She was born in Soso March 5, 1928, to Oliver M. Braswell and Frances S. Braswell. She retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Vicksburg after 25 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie H. Vance; her son, Phil W. Vance; her brothers, Thurman Braswell and Walter “Jimmy” Braswell; her sisters, Henrietta Anderson, Mary Cochran and Guycelle Crocker.

She is survived by her daughters, Audrey Brewer and Eileen Bailey (Bill) of Vicksburg; her sister, Ruby Sweeney of Clermont, Fla.; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be noon Saturday, April 1, with the Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Bailey, Rick Fife, Brian Marble, John Edlridge, Bailey Marble and C. J. Cavalier.

Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Janette Eldridge, Lucy Walker, Chyna Marble, Amanda Fife and Dixie Gaul.
