Police seek public’s help in finding missing teenager

Vicksburg police are asking the public’s help in locating a teenager who has been missing since Tuesday.

According to police reports, JaMiya Lee, 15, was reported missing from her home in the 300 block of Shady Lane about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday by her grandmother. She was last seen in her room between 1:30 and 2 a.m.

According to her grandmother, JaMiya has been living with her for the past two months and she does not have a cell phone.

She left several handwritten notes saying she was leaving, and one of the notes indicated she was headed to the Atlanta area. She took articles of clothing with her.

JaMiya has been entered on the National Crime Information Center as a runaway. She is a black female, 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 120 lbs.

Investigators are continuing to search for any leads that may locate JaMiya.
