Downtown ready for Riverfest

The 30th annual Riverfest music and arts festival will be held Friday and Saturday in downtown Vicksburg.
The events will feature multiple bands Friday and Saturday nights, an arts and craft show and family-friendly activities.
The music will begin Friday at 6:15 p.m. with a performance by The Chill. Projekt Band will go the stage at 7:15 p.m. and Nikita will follow them at 8:15 p.m. The headliner Friday is soul singer Willie Clayton. He will take the stage at 9:45 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10 a person.
Saturday’s activities begin at 8 a.m with the RiverFest arts and craft show around city hall. The arts and craft fair will run until 4 p.m.
Free music performances will begin at 10 a.m. with GospelFest on the RiverFest stage. Osgood and Blaque will follow GospelFest at noon.
Also on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a farmers’ market spring preview, a downtown merchants sidewalk sale, an outdoor market and Vicksburg Main Street Performers. All daytime activities are free to attend.
Gates for Saturday’s featured bands will open at 6 p.m. and the music will start at 6:15 p.m. The first act will be the Bill Perry Trio. They will be followed by SlapHappy at 7:15 p.m. and Rewind at 8:15 p.m. The headliner Saturday will be country singer Frank Foster. He will take the stage at 9:45 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the gate or online at riverfestms.com.
