Your footage of downtown Vicksburg could be featured in Vicksburg Main Street’s next commercial or on Main Street’s website and social media outlets.

Vicksburg Main Street is holding an open video contest for videos between 30 seconds and a minute long that show the sights and sounds of downtown Vicksburg.

“Looking for creativity, originality and memorable moments,” Main Street Executive Director Kim Hopkins said. “We thought it would be fun to see how people see downtown.”

The video submissions can feature dialogue, a story and/or music. They can also be a collection of scenic shots downtown or show events such as the upcoming farmer’s market.

“We have been trying to think of different way to get footage of downtown so we thought of a video contest and thought it would be fun,” Hopkins said.

Submissions will be accepted until May 25. To enter, you have to upload your video to YouTube and email the URL to DTVicksburgVideoContest@gmail.com. You also must include the official entry form and a release form for any actors portrayed in the video. The forms can be downloaded at downtownvicksburg.org.

Contest entries will be judged by a panel on their creativity, originality, memorable content production quality and favorable promotion of downtown Vicksburg.

The first place winner will receive $250, second place will receive $150 and third place will receive a downtown gift basket.
