More than a week after conducting a warrant sweep through Vicksburg and Warren County, where 13 people were arrested for a number of drug and firearm related charges, the Vicksburg Police Department arrested two more in connection to drugs.
On Friday, Ebonie Cox, 40, of Vicksburg, was arrested for possession of cocaine.
Police investigators recovered seven grams of cocaine that Cox had in her possession.
She is being charged with possession of cocaine and the sale of cocaine.
Also on Friday, during a traffic stop, officers recovered approximately 13 grams of marijuana and arrested 35-year-old Vicksburg resident Marquette McCroy.
He was arrested and is being charged with possession of marijuana.
“Drug activity will not be tolerated in the City of Vicksburg,” Vicksburg Chief of Police Walter Armstrong said. “Drug dealers need to know that the Vicksburg Police Department will continue to fight the war on drugs in the community in order to make this community a safe community.”
Armstrong stressed the importance of the community’s involvement in curtailing drug activity in the city.
“If you see something suspicious, please contact the Vicksburg Police Department,” Armstrong said. “We appreciate the support of the citizens in the community who are taking an active role in helping create a safe community.”
