Units from the Vicksburg Fire Department responded to fire call at Anderson-Tully Wednesday at 4:28 a.m.

“It was more or less contained to the equipment involved and the area around the equipment,” Vicksburg deputy fire chief Craig Dancyzk said. “There was minimal damage to the building.”

Dancyzk said he was unsure what the specific equipment was because he never entered the building, but a that a hydraulic line ruptured, feeding the flames. He added that at Anderson-Tully there is a heightened risk of fire because the heat from the equipment can ignite the wood particles.

“When the page came out I was concerned,” Dancyzk said. “Anderson-Tully being a long time business and the nature of their business being wood, the potential is always there.”

The all clear went out at 5:16 a.m. after the shift commander reported that the fire was contained Dancyzk said.
