Sidney Ellis Tillotson Sr. joined his family and friends in their heavenly home April 23, 2017. 

He was born May 4, 1928 in Vicksburg.  He was a graduate of Carr Central High School and a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, except for his time served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a local businessman, mechanic and farmer.  He was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church and also attended Bovina Baptist Church.  He was preceded in his journey to live with the Lord by his wife of over 50 years, Patsy Province Tillotson; one grandson, Troy Ellis Tillotson; his parents, Ellis and Elsie Tillotson; brothers, Jack W. Tillotson and Harold L. Tillotson; mother in law, Emma Province; brothers in law, Earnest Barlow, Clyde McGehee and John Norwood (Peggy); and numerous other brothers and sisters in laws and nephews. 

He is survived by his two sons, Ellis Tillotson Jr. and Mark Tillotson (Tammy); three sisters, Odell T. Barlow, Elsie T. Buchanan and Pat Mansfield (Joe); grandchildren, Derek Tillotson (Anna), Jessica Jones (Taylor), Linsey Emma Tillotson, Mary Katherine Tillotson and Payton Tillotson; great-grandchildren, Drake Tillotson, Nick Tillotson, Parker Jones and Max Jones; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was a loving and devoted family man.  He along with his parents, brother and sisters have helped create families that have been in Vicksburg for over 100 years that have touched many lives and will continue for generations to come.   We are thankful to God for allowing him to be with us for so long.  We know he is enjoying being back with loved ones and the Lord, although we will truly miss him. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. 

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Derek Tillotson, Junie Barlow, Roger Barlow, Jamie Tillotson, Clyde McGehee, Jeffrey Mansfield and Kenny Ellerbe. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Payton Tillotson, Taylor Jones, Kevin Tillotson, Jackie Tillotson, Chris Tillotson, John David Norwood and Gary Norwood. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations be made to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
